6 TRICKS TO LOOK NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL'

It doesn't take a Prius full of products or hours spent primping to look your best. Arm yourself with these simple tricks to play up your beauty ... naturally

1.Don't get us wrong, we love a fierce liquid lined eye and bold lip color just as much as the next girl, but every now and then we just want to look like … ourselves. Well, ourselves, only better. So when it comes to looking natural and beautiful we turn to these quick tips courtesy of makeup artist Emily Kate Warren. The best part? Not only do these tips help us look polished and pretty, but they save us time too!

2.START IN THE SHOWER

Before you start camouflaging imperfections or playing up your best features with makeup, focus on your skin. Why? Well, Warren says the key to looking naturally beautiful is letting your skin show through any makeup or body bronzers/shimmers you apply, so you need to start with healthy skin.

The simplest way to get great skin is by taking the time, day and night, to practice good skin care. For your face, that means cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting it with sunscreen daily (at the very least). For your body, that means cleansing with a body wash that will hydrate skin and eliminate rough patches. Try Dove VisibleCare Toning Body Wash, $8.29, which has an extra dose of vitamin E to promote skin's elasticity and strength

3.GET PRIMED

If you want to avoid caking your face with more makeup than you need, start with primer. Choose a mattifying one if you need to control oil. But if a glow is what your skin lacks, go for one that adds a touch of sheen to your skin, says Warren. Both will smooth your face while letting your natural skin shine through. Using a primer will allow you to apply less makeup and still get a flawless finish.

4.KEEP IT SIMPLE

Looking natural and gorgeous does take some effort, but it should be quick, says Warren. "My daily makeup routine takes literally five minutes," she says. A tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation, mascara, blush (apply a peachy-taupe hue just below your cheekbones), and a lip balm-y stain are all you need to look pulled-together, but still like yourself.

5.ENHANCE YOUR EYES SUBTLY

Skip the graphic liquid liner (for now, anyway) and opt for using soft eyeliner pencils. Go for a brown or copper shade -- instead of black -- and apply it "between your eyelashes," says Warren. This "makes lashlines look thicker and more defined without looking overdone," she adds. Complete your eye look by applying mascara, again in a brown hue instead of black, to keep your look natural.

6.GIVE LIPS A KISS OF COLOR

For lips that look defined yet natural, you want to avoid hard edges, says Warren. So, apply a lip liner that matches your natural lip color perfectly, and rub it along the outer edges of your lips. If the line still has harsh edges, simply blend the pencil into your lips with your fingertip. Top the neutral pencil with a lip balm/stain hybrid in a pinkish or peach shade to add a touch of color without making too loud a statement.
